Events

Empty Space began as an intimate studio in Old Chatham, a room where people came to breathe, listen, practice, and return to themselves. That room held us beautifully.

Now, Empty Space is becoming what it has always been at its heart. Not one physical place, but a way of creating space.

Today, Empty Space is led by Anna Yang and Alex Artymiak through public classes at PS21, private sessions, retreats, brand collaborations, corporate wellness experiences, and future online practice. Wherever we gather, the intention remains the same: to listen deeply, move with awareness, and remember the quiet space within.

What People Are Saying

  • I just returned from a transformative weekend retreat with Alex and Anna. The space is so beautiful and Alex’s yoga instruction is thoughtful, clear and approachable. His cues and flow are fantastic. Then…sound meditations that Alex and Anna loving share are like nothing I have ever experienced. Such mastery. I was left in a state of bliss. I wish I lived closer. I would be a fixture! Can’t wait to return!

  • I have participated in many sound baths but Alex and Anna provide an absolutely transformative experience through sound. Linking breathing techniques with a profound understanding of frequency, the experience for me has been very deep, and relaxing. They have a beautiful collection of gongs, bowls and other wonderful percussive instruments. Thank you for opening this beautiful space and working to create a community of peace seekers.

  • Every moment of the experience was created with so much love, passion and intension from our hosts Anna and Alex. I felt so cared for and nurtured every minute; from the beautifully lead yoga, to the incredible depth of the sound meditations, to the excellent plant-based food. Every attention to detail and the talent and warmth of our hosts made the experience profound. I have been to many yoga spaces and retreats and nothing compares to this very unique, hidden secret that no doubt will grow quickly in the yoga and sound healing space.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
